Rotary Club of Orange Park Sunrise First Coast Honor Air Trip To The World War II Memorial In Washington DC

The Rotary Club of Orange Park Sunrise presented a tribute to the First Coast Men and Women World War II Veterans of Clay County. First Coast HonorAir was a one-day trip to Washington, DC taking place on June 2, 2007. The Rotary Club of Orange Park Sunrise provided the opportunity for many First Coast veterans to view their World War II Memorial for the first time. The World War II Memorial was dedicated in 2004 to a generation who's youngest member is now in their late seventies. Many of the brave men and women who fought and sacrificed for our country have not had an opportunity, or ability, to visit this great memorial dedicated to their honor. Through the fund raising efforts of the Rotary Club of Orange Park Sunrise, the dedicated citizens of Clay County, local businesses and organizations, these honored men and women were given that chance.

Pictured here in the group of Rotarians and Volunteers (in blue shirts) are some of the brave
men and women from Clay County who fought in World War II.
